As the name entails, the Scorn of Medusa ship cosmetics set evokes the flair of Ancient Greek mythos, with it's writhing snakes, Corinthian columns, and even a reference to the bust of Dying Alexander.
This set is particularly meaningful to me, being one of the earlier cosmetics sets that I worked together with Ubisoft Mumbai in developing. Leading the team together with Jijo Thomas and Ren Hong, it was a fulfilling process iterating on the designs, gathering historical references to better realise the art direction, and working together with artists from the sculpt to the final asset. My work also involved working on the hull and sail colours, the ornament placement procedural process, and tying the full 3D visual together.
The ship cosmetics are a colossal undertaking, and it is only made possible by the people in our Ship Team and MTX Pod. My admiration and appreciation goes out to:
Jijo Thomas - Lead 3D Artist
Samar Sonone - Senior 3D Artist
Aditya Joy - 3D Artist
Andre Ang - Technical Artist
Ojas Sharma - Technical Artist
Paraminder Singh Dhiman - Technical Artist
Ren Hong - Senior Lead 3D Artist
Andie Sulistio - Art Director
