Goldfish Project

I love goldfish and I was inspired to come up with a game concept surrounding goldfish.

Play as a young shopkeeper at your family's specialty goldfish shop. With the knowledge of breeding and aquascaping, create bespoke tanks for various customers whilst listening to their stories and experiences.

With this game, I want players to enjoy expressing their creativity in designing these aquariums for each customer. Players can nurture and grow both plant and fish, before handing it over. With that experience, I hope to introduce a place of tranquility and santuary for players to return to.

In terms of the art style, I wanted to capture a slice-of-life atmosphere, and was inspired by the works of Varguy and Mateusz Urbanowicz

There are many ways for this game to expand and I'm currently figuring out the game loop. After posting WIP on instagram and reddit, I realised that people were keen and interested in playing a game like this, which makes me feel all the more excited to pursue it.
